Students in Grades 6 will continue on in Music theory while learning to play the guitar. Holy Rosary School will be loaning guitars out to those who do not have access to their own. All students will need to bring their guitar (whether a loaner or their own) to class each week along with their Music folder.
Interested in purchasing a guitar for your child? There are several excellent local sources to purchase a guitar. Please check the “Music Stores” listings on this webpage for names and addresses.

Dear 4th Grade Parents,
Your child is moving right along in improving their music reading skills this year in playing the recorder. They are learning their first notes (A, B, & G!) and preparing a piece to perform in the Christmas Program very soon. I ask your continued support in encouraging daily practice (recommendation: 15 minutes per/day) and an occasional at-home performance. You may wish to have your child play the current song they are studying in class. I am most happy to provide additional materials for them to work on at home, if your child seems to be progressing and ready for more challenging music.
I so appreciate your support and if you ever need any additional help or have questions, please feel free to contact me at 937-1488 X 322. Thank you & here’s to a great year of music!

A special word of thanks!
Many talented students have helped out in the past years at our school masses. Kudos to these individuals! . . . The entire Holy Rosary community looks forward to having more students share their musical gifts at our wonderful liturgies in the future. Students can participate by singing, playing the guitar or drums or other percussion instruments.

The annual Christmas Program is quickly approaching! The theme this year will honor “St. Nicholas” whose feast day is on this day! Our school band will kick things off on Thursday, December 6, starting at 7:00 PM, followed by Grades K - 6 with a special performance by the 8th Grade. The church will be crowded that night - but not to worry! Parents, and grandparents are invited to attend the rehearsals as follows. WEDNESDAY, December 5, Grades 3 - 6 will rehearse at 9:30 AM. Thursday, December 6, Grades K - 2 plus the 8th Grade will rehearse also at 9:30 AM. There’ll be plenty of room - so come one came all!
Students are required to participate as this event is a graded performance. Attire for the performance is “Sunday best” - 8th Grade is invited to dress up in nice dresses and suits or suit coats and slacks.
Students should arrive no earlier than 6:30 PM and report to their classrooms, unless otherwise directed.
Please mark your calendars now for December 6 for this jolly evening of music, magic & fun! Any questions - please contact Ms. Mudge via the school office or leave a message at 937-1488 X 322. Thanks!
