There have been some questions about what the girls should wear for the upcoming graduation activities. So here are some guidelines. Mr. Mohrbacher is going to put something on his website for the boys.
Dress Code for Girls:
Please do not wear:
Strapless dresses/tops
Spaghetti strap dresses/tank tops
Dresses/skirts more than four inches above the knee
Low cut dresses/tops (more than 2 inches below collarbone)
Excessively tight dresses
Please wear:
A sweater or cardigan over strapless or spaghetti strap dresses
Dresses with 2 in. or greater straps
Church appropriate clothing
Strapless and spaghetti strap dresses are okay as long as you wear (and keep on) a cardigan/sweater. There are many Church-appropriate dresses that are very cute/pretty/age-appropriate. Any heals or nice flats can be worn. You can wear the same dress for both the Baccalaureate Mass and the Graduation. (Remember: At graduation, you will be wearing a gown over, so it is really okay to just buy one dress.)
I hope this helps!

Love Books:
The 8th graders will continue the new tradition of creating a Love Book to demonstrate their lives so far. The Love Book is an album of photos, writing, and letters that they can keep for the rest of their lives. It will be due later in May, but the kids can begin gathering photos for the 5 sections (God, Family, Friends, Self, and “Other”.) They can also begin asking friends/siblings to write them letters.
Anne Frank Play:
A permission slip went home today. One corrections: We will leave at 9:30 A.M.
Please let me know if you are interested in coming. It has received excellent reviews!

Our Lenten retreat, formerly to be held in the school hall, will now be enjoyed at Camp Don Bosco. Students will leave on buses soon after 8:30A.M. on Wednesday March 5, and we will all return to school shortly before dismissal at 2:15P.M. The retreat will be conducted by the Archdiocesan Youth Retreat Team on the topic of Catholic Social Teaching. Students may wear free dress, and they will need to bring a sack lunch and a snack. Permission slips were sent home on Friday afternoon; these MUST be signed and returned by Tuesday, 3/4. Archdiocesan policy requires that we send an adult chaperone for each 7 students; so if you are able to join us, please email me. Thanks!

Research Paper - The students have begun the research writing process. This week the focus is on researching and finding a variety of sources. The students should be doing some research at home as well as at school. Next week we will focus on writing a thesis statement.
Outside Reading - The students need to have 2 Battle of the Books books read before the end of the year. Students should also aim at reading 600 pages of outside reading every trimester. Next week (Friday, Feb. 15th), the students will have their second in-class book review, so they will have needed to complete an outside reading book this trimester.

It is great to be back, and the 8th graders seem rested and ready to go. The upcoming months will be very busy and exciting.
I just wanted to let you know that this website is currently not working at school, so I will be updating the website from home. I will try to keep it as current as possible.

I added the hours for the first trimester community service hours. You will notice that a grade is given on Powerschool. This grade doesn’t mean anything. It won’t be seen on the report card or on anything given to the high schools. The only important thing is that the 30 hours are completed by May. Keep up the good work and keep helping others!

We have received several high school forms from the 8th graders. We would like to have the Teacher Evaluation Sheet and the Transcript Release Form handed in by December 3. Please remember to sign up for placement tests.
